- The soul mate is a concept that we need to cling to because we are not secure in ourselves.
- True love is when you are in pain from the thought or reality of losing that special person and you truly know him/her inside out and have withstood the test of time.
- You have to make your own happiness; you cannot rely on other people to do it for you. Granted, you may rely on God, or in some cases on medication, but you cannot rely completely on people. While at times people may be the greatest source of support; everybody will disappoint you at one time or another. So be secure in yourself despite disappointments in relationship. You aren't the only one who's "only human".
- Anything worth having takes a certain amount of work - marriage, children, other relationships, and career, even pets.
- The more you want something, the more attractive it appears and the more likely a chance that it could disappoint you, but if it works out, it will bring the most amount of satisfaction in your life.
- The feelings of satisfaction and love, come and go in cycles, but when something is worth it, it brings you security. So don't rely on feelings alone. Take a look at the big picture.
- Next time a person brings you sadness take a good look inside of you and make sure you aren't doing the same thing he/she is doing to you. Otherwise you will become very bitter. And believe me revenge doesn't work. It winds up making you feel very empty because you weren't strong enough to resist the temptation to lash out.
- Roses are very beautiful, but have their thorns. So does everything else in life. Learn how to work around the thorns, or at least accept them. Just make sure you don't get pierced.
- Personal growth is very difficult to go through, you will experience a lot of disappointments but you will also experience much joy. Both are necessary to make you a better person.
- Marriage is very beautiful, but unfortunately it has the chance of becoming the biggest nightmare you've ever experienced. Don't let that discourage you from seeking it out. When you find a good marriage and are secure in yourself
it will be the best decision you've ever made in your life. It will then become the best dream you've ever had, but even better because it will be reality.
- The more you try to appear perfect the more your children will "help" you realize that you are not.
